Modbus ZigBee Devices

The RS485 Modbus Gateway – ZigBee ZC-GW-485-EM is part of an assortment of 4-noks ZigBee devices. The purpose for which it was created is to interface a PLC (Programmable Logic Control) or a PC with the 4-noks ZigBee devices network through a RS485 serial interface and a standard protocol universally recognized such the Modbus/RTU. The employment of the Modbus protocol grants an immediate use with all the commercial PLCs and also with most of the commercial Scadas for PC.

The gateway, for what concerns the ZigBee network, is one of the available coordinating type devices. This means that it has an active function in the network creation and in keeping the radio traffic between the ZigBee network devices. Moreover, they can work as “father” devices for battery powered sensors and can memorize the information that they asynchronously transmit compared with the ModBus interrogations. Along with the ZR-BR-485-EM device, this gateway offers a transparent Modbus channel.
